$40 – $43 per hour, depending on experience | Full-Time (40 to 50 hours) | Possible Saturday Shift

Rubbish Direct has been providing Rubbish and Recycling services to Auckland for over 25 years. We rely on our mechanics to keep our trucks and plant humming. This is a hands-on role where your work keeps our operation running.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Carrying out A, B, and C services on our heavy fleet, all ISUZU vehicles
• Performing pre-COF inspections and fault rectification
• Running diagnostics and mechanical repairs (brakes, hydraulics, electrical, etc.)
• Completing preventative maintenance checks
• Supporting the team with breakdown callouts; including early morning and weekend (rostered) shifts
• Auto electrical and welding tasks
• Keeping accurate service records through our workshop portal
• Ability to work on a range of jobs, including trucks and other plant and equipment

What We’re Looking For

• Qualified Diesel Mechanic (a minimum of 5 years proven heavy vehicle experience preferred)
• Strong fault-finding and repair skills
• Capable of working independently and getting through a day’s work without needing hand-holding
• Health & Safety-conscious — you know the importance of PPE and doing things properly
• Class 2 and forklift licence a big plus
